Dear Lab/Shul,

How do we nurture the complex, multidimensional fibers of our communities – and our own humanity – at a time when we are continuously confronted with the global binaries of “either/or”, “right/wrong” and “good/evil”? What would it take for us to get to a place of “both/and”?

WE ARE LAUNCHING 3 NEW PROGRAMS IN FEBRUARY that can help.
Scroll down for details and read below to see why this matters.

Let’s look at the month of February. Spiritually, it represents both the solemn, starkness of winter and the optimistic anticipation of spring. Similarly, February contains both the Hebrew month of Shevat – the month of reflection and renewal, and the Hebrew month of Adar – the month of increased joy. Even our national days of observance in February embrace both weight and whimsy as we honor Black History Month, Presidents Day, and World Cancer Day, as well as lesser known days like National Dark Chocolate Day, National Golden Retriever Day and Do A Grouch a Favor Day(!).

February may be most known in American culture for Valentine’s Day – a day that can elicit both dread and joy for individuals and couples alike. No matter if or how you celebrate it, why not embrace the opportunity to lean into love? I recently learned about Love Activism – a radical, and holistic activism of kindness conceived by artist, poet and oral historian, Stacy Russo. It’s an invitation for all of us to activate love especially in these intense times of toxic binary bombardment. I urge you to check it out.

This February – with Radical Love Activism as a guiding principle toward peace and positive societal shift –  I invite you to embrace both the deeply significant and the lighthearted, as a way to manage the weight of our current reality.

Here’s how…with brand new (and some returning) Lab/Shul programs:
