For all of our parents out there, we know that the back to school madness has begun ! The good news is – we have your kiddo’s artist-driven god-optional Jewish learning covered!

At Lab/Shul, we create learning experiences that are personalized, creative, and inclusive, meeting kids where they are and making space for different learning styles and neurodiversity. We bring ancient wisdom into conversation with contemporary life, with plenty of room for curiosity, creativity, artistry, and individual expression. 

Meet, our age-based options: Learning Lab/Jr and Raising the Bar:

For our very youngest, introducing Learning Lab/Jr: weekly Brooklyn home-based sessions around Jewish values and wisdom to nourish our relationship to self, to others, and to the world around us. The curricular focus follows the Jewish calendar of festivals and celebrations, the stories of our people, and includes Hebrew reading and prayer comprehension, Lab/Shul style!

  • Going into 1st or 2nd Grade? Join our TUESDAY afterschool class 
  • Going into 3rd, 4th, 5th Grade? Join our THURSDAY weekly class

For a child preparing for their B Mitzvah, enter Raising the Bar:

  • Join a diverse, curious, and creative cohort of families in NYC as you journey together and explore what coming of age means in today’s world.
  • Join a 1:1 journey of identity and wonder, in NYC or beyond, with an educator who might be a visual artist, playwright, yoga teacher, actor, camp professional, or dancer. Lab/Shul’s educators are some of the most talented mentors and educators in NYC and beyond.

Whether your child is in elementary school or approaching B Mitzvah age, YOU ARE WELCOME HERE. Children ages 0–14 are invited to participate in Lab/Jr, filled with imaginative play, movement and music. Our creative kids’ laboratory is inspired by this year’s theme, Holy Shift.
