Dear Lab/Shul .

It’s a midsummer morn, and while it’s all you can do to stay present under the blazing sun, the Jewish calendar is mapping its way into the annual shift of season’s summer-to-autumn arc of rubble, rise, prepent, repent, rebirth, and rebuild. The call to come close and awaken, together, is here. If it’s your first time on this yearly pilgrimage with us, Welcome. If you are returning, keep your eye out for our newcomers and let’s be brave together.

Truth is, this journey can’t be made alone and Lab/Shul is calling together our artists, healers, weavers and guides to travel with us into the depths and up to the heights of this conscious life.

You’ll meet everyone soon, let’s get started. First, here’s a glimpse at the roadstops on our calendar’s seasonal route of resilience and repair:

  • July 23 / 9th of Av Grief Ritual – Rav Jericho Vincent and Temple of the Stranger open the high holy day season with the get-started-by-breaking-your-heart-wide-open collective grief and reckoning ritual of Tisha b Av. Space is limited, RSVP here.
  • July 27 / 15th of Av Be Breathed: An Ivri Evening of Mystical Ritual for Tu B’av – If you are you chant-curious or just plain enchanted, then join us as Lab/Shul’s Spiritual Leader Shira Kline and Temple of the Stranger’s Rav Jericho enter a shared field of chant, breath, and embodied ritual for the love holiday of Tu B’Av. No prior experience is necessary. Come as you are, leave as even more of yourself. Space is limited, RSVP here.

Stay tuned for more stops on this ancient journey of transformation, where we “make the invisible visible” to borrow a phrase from Alan Lew. We’re just getting started. Let’s go.

With great love,

Shira Kline
