Next week, we’re heading into a heavy 48 hour period. As we mark Israel’s 78th year, the landscape feels more visceral and fractured than ever. Between the sirens of Yom Ha’Zikaron and the flags of Yom Ha’Atzmaut, there is a massive range of emotion. From celebration and resilience to deep lament and the memory of loss, Lab/Shul is here to hold space with you.
As an “anti-divisivist” spiritual community, we do not choose one truth over the other. We stand in the “messy middle,” holding the spectrum of narratives about Israel/Palestine with the courage to believe that peace is only possible when we recognize everyone’s pain. To do this takes an open heart and skills for constructive dialogue, honesty and compassionate curiosity. Join us for our next in-person cohort of Courageous Conversations starting on May 5th to engage in this important bridge building work.
Tomorrow night, we begin by planting the seed of courage as we enter Interdependence Week through our Sabbath Queen monthly ritual. In NYC and online, we’ll weave our voices together to create a tapestry of trust and solidarity, because a kinder future is something we can only forge together.
