“To rebuild a broken vocabulary is to rebuild a world”

-Adrienne Rich

When words wound and silence shatters solidarity – we are called to watch and weigh our words, guided by ancestral wisdom to reclaim responsible vocabularies that value our humanity, help us shift and heal.

Welcome to Prepent 2026, Lab/Shul’s annual 40-day High Holy Day tradition of daily reflections on personal repair and public renewal into the new year.

From the first dawn of Elul through Yom Kippur (August 14 – September 22), inspired by the Kabbalistic idea of the Exile of the Word, Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie curates a collective online journey, with daily posts from voices in our community on some of our most cherished and bruised concepts, to reimagine their use and purpose, towards more tolerance, respect, peace and truth, featuring photos one of our artists/activists in residence, Gili Getz.

Join us to co-create a collective shift together, heart to heart, word by word, day by holy day.
