Becoming Israel – 2025
NYCJoin us for a staged reading & talkback of highlights from Becoming Israel, an original play written by Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie, directed by Annie Levy, and staged by Storahtelling in 2008 to mark Israel's 60th year. Revised for today's context, Becoming Israel serves as a thought-provoking entry point for facilitated discussions on modern-day challenges, questions and realities of Israel/Palestine and Jewish identity.

Courageous Conversations on Israel/Palestine
NYCCourageous Conversations fosters meaningful dialogue led by professional facilitators from within the Lab/Shul community and the Lab/Shul ritual team. This program nurtures understanding, empathy, and essential communication skills while embracing the diverse perspectives, beliefs, and experiences that shape our collective fabric. Each session offers a supportive space for thoughtful discussion, equipping participants with tools to navigate conversations across disagreement with openness and respect.
Community Solidarity Vigil
Join us for a community gathering of prayer and song as we mourn those killed in Israel and hold close the pain and fear so many are carrying in the face of ongoing threats. We will lift our voices in collective song, offer prayers for healing and protection, and honor the memory of those lost. In moments of darkness, we come together — to hold one another, to remember, and to sing.
Webinar on Israel/Palestine & the LGBTQ community
Navigating issues related to Israel/Palestine in the queer community – and in some of the broader progressive spaces – can be challenging. There is a history of using Israel’s relatively LGBTQ friendly environment to try to distract from the Occupation, a practice which has earned the label “Pinkwashing.” At the same time, there are the sometimes unfair asks that are made of Jews and/or Israelis.
