Each month, Lab/Shul’s Visionary Salon gathers a circle of Visionary Partners around one timely, soul-stirring question. For Hanukkah – and as a continuation of the brave conversations we began on Kol Nidre – we’re opening this month’s Salon to all Partners. This gathering offers a space to spark hope and a first glimpse of our returning Courageous Conversations 2026 cohort – a community experience rooted in empathy, dialogue, and deep listening that has supported and sustained us in recent years.

Facilitated in person by Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie and online by Melissa Shaw, this Salon welcomes anyone ready to listen deeply, speak thoughtfully, and sit with complexity in community.

Our Courageous Conversations framework draws on years of Lab/Shul practice: professionally guided dialogue, a blend of large talking circle and small group formats, this series nurtures understanding, empathy, and essential communication skills while embracing the diverse perspectives, beliefs, and experiences that shape our collective fabric. Each session offers a supportive space for thoughtful discussion, equipping participants with tools to navigate conversations across disagreement with openness and respect.
