Peace, Shalom, Salam: There were tears when the good news was heard on Wednesday night, as a group of us from Lab/Shul sat and sang around a table in a rooftop Sukkah in Manhattan. We gathered to thank our visionary partners and devoted volunteers who generously helped us make this holy season welcoming and friendly to so many.
Rabbi Amichai was teaching about raising the Sukkah of the possible from the rubble of reality, Shira and Naomi led us in a Shalom chant – when someone started whispering, “they signed the deal”!
With bated breath we bless this long awaited moment of relief, await good news, and welcome a new chapter of Tikkun and healing – for Israelis and Palestinians and for all of us — as best and as soon as possible.
How to help us hold this tender time together?
