Rabbi Amichai will lead a ritual moment during the program, offering space for reflection and remembrance.

The Israelis For Peace community and guests will gather on the evening of October 7, 2026, to commemorate three years since October 7th, mourning those killed on the day itself and since, in its bloody aftermath. We will stand in silence holding candles, with banners reading MOURN THE DEAD, END THE BLOODSHED. Community members will read testimonies from and about October 7th survivors and victims and testimonies from Gaza and the West Bank. October 7th devastated many of us. Some of us lost family or friends, others had loved ones taken hostage. And for three years, while we protested, organized and learned from Palestinian and Israeli peace activists, we have been asking ourselves and our community – how does one mourn when the horrors are ongoing? While retaliation has turned into genocide? While tens of thousands of human beings have been killed and are still being killed?
