DESCRIPTION:Segulalelo-lelo-lelalelo. The name compounds a Kabbalistic amulet and an Acid Mothers Temple freakout. These are the influences and the means through which we are remedied. This is our Acid Mussar Temple. \nSegulalelo is an opportunity to come together\, to collect ourselves in the days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur\, to let our voices be heard and to hear other voices. To lose ourselves in sound. \nWe aspire to create a communal ritual\, a form of chant drawing from the Texts. Chant frees words from their lingual casings. Phrases bisect into feelings and rhythm. Focus blurs and sharpens on the rises and falls of a tongue. We hear drummers. We deepen understanding by repeating one meaningful thought rather than by plodding through so many. The beat is our breath. Our breath is our life. We breathe together\, we live together\, we beat. \nJoin us for an evening of chant and music led by Dan Saks and with live improvisation by Carlos Metta\, Naomi Less\, Scott Perlo\, Shahzad Ismaily\, and others! \n\n\n\n\nThis event is a collaboration between The Neighborhood\, Lab/Shul\, and Romemu Brooklyn.
