DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the realm of Splendor.\nWelcome to Sabbath Queen. \nThis month we invite you to slow down and awaken to the splendor of what is. As we finish counting week five of the Omer\, we open the portal together to deep meditation on the quality of hod – often translated as “splendor\,” “acknowledgment” and “gratitude\,” hod is a quality associated with prophecy and dreams. \n  \nThis month\, we welcome you to Sabbath Splendor\, a special Happy Hour that includes a sound bath with sound artist and healer Katie Down\, light food\, drink\, and self-guided explorations to activate hod in your body and spirit – call it a dream state! Discover the splendor that is already present within and around you as we  pause to breathe in the simple deliciousness of being together. \nDoors open at the Manny Cantor at 6:00 pm EST. At 6:15 EST sharp\, the experiences will begin on the rooftop. \nYou might: \n\nSpend some time journaling as a way of getting in touch with the Sabbath spirit\,\nRest your eyes and mind as you relax into Shabbat\,\nExplore the splendor of your body through intentional movement\,\nHave a guided conversation with a friend.\n\nFor those joining virtually\, your hosts Stephen and Phill will offer a virtual Sabbath Splendor happy hour experience tailored to the virtual world. \nSabbath Queen is an intentional threshold into the weekend\, a space to unwind. Come seeking community; leave with an expanded sense of your own divinity\, and hopefully a new friend. Our Sabbath Queen ritual worship will begin at 7pm\, after the Sabbath Splendor Happy Hour experience. \nWe are led this month by Ritual Leader and Associate Director\, Naomi Less\, Associate Clergy members Ben Freeman and Rabbi Noam Lerman\, and are pleased to welcome back our Co-founder and Spiritual Leader\, Shira Kline from parental leave.

Led by the Lab/Shul Ritual Team along with beloved collaborators\, artists\, teachers\, healers\, and musicians. This month we will be in person and broadcasting live from the Manny Cantor Center and will be led by Ritual Leader Naomi Less\, Associate Clergy people Rabbi Noam Lerman and Ben Freeman\, and musicians Dan Aran\, Meg Okura\, and David Meer. \nThis March\, as we honor Women’s History Month\, the 100th anniversary of the first Bat Mitzvah\, and National Disability Awareness Month\, we uplift our our sisters\, the leaders on whose shoulders we rise\, and we amplify the voices of disability advocates as we continue to actualize what everybody-friendly means for Lab/Shul. \nWe feel like we need to keep the lights on 24/7 – to stoke the fire\, to produce produce produce – can we lean back\, pause and allow the pilot light to take care of itself without us fueling it – and instead fuel our soul with rest. Welcome back to our soul-fuel station we call Sabbath Queen. \nFor folks joining in person\, we will be hosted on the 6th floor of the Manny Cantor Center\, located at 197 E Broadway\, New York\, NY 10002.  \nSchedule \n\n6:00pm – Doors open; get COVID tested and shmooze on the terrace!\n6:30pm – Happy Half Hour on Zoom (link available after registration!)\n7:00pm – Shabbat worship begins indoors and on Zoom\n\n  \nCOVID Safety Information \n\nManny Cantor Center requires proof of vaccination\nMasks must be worn at all times except when eating and drinking.\nGuests 2 – 5 years old must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult are strongly encouraged to wear masks.\nWe are once again working with MedRite to offer free COVID testing! Everyone must be tested before entering the space; please read this handout to be as prepared as possible! You will need to arrive with your insurance card (if you have one) and your ID or passport. There will be volunteers standing at the ready to help you successfully get tested! If you have questions or concerns about testing\, email ari@labshul.org.
