We’ll partake in traditional practices and rituals of Jewish grief\, explore ancestral wisdom on how to work with grief\, and bring presence to traumas past and present\, individual and collective. \nFeaturing teachings and sacred song from R’ Amichai Lau-Lavie\, R’ Jericho Vincent\, Sacred Musician Shira Kline and others. Some folks have a tradition to fast on this day\, so we’ll conclude with a ceremonial break fast for all. \nAfter the retreat\, our community weaver will host an informal hang out to chat\, digest the experience\, and continue to connect. \nOpen to people of all backgrounds. Since the murder of his parents in the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7\, 2023\, Inon has become a leading voice for peace between Israelis and Palestinians.  In recognition of his peacebuilding efforts\, Maoz was honored in 2024 with two prestigious awards: the Franco-German Human Rights Prize\, awarded by France and Germany\, and the Shared Living Award from Abraham Initiatives. \n\nAziz Abu Sarah is a Palestinian author\, peacemaker and entrepreneur with a background in conflict resolution and tourism development. To date\, he has implemented transformative education and peace initiatives across more than 65 countries\, including Afghanistan\, Syria\, Israel and Palestine. His journey from seeking revenge for his brother’s death at the hands of Israeli soldiers to becoming a peacemaker underscores a decades-long mission to foster cross-cultural understanding. The cofounder of InterAct International and MEJDI Tours and former executive director at the Center for World Religions\, Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University\, Abu Sarah has pioneered innovative approaches to tourism and education that promote empathy\, sustainability and bridge-building between communities. Aziz has been recognized among the “500 Most Influential Muslims in the World” by the Royal Strategic Studies Centre in Jordan annually since 2010 for his impactful work in cultural education and conflict resolution. He is a TED Fellow and National Geographic Explorer.
