The workshop will offer a taste of The Way of Council\, the way of listening and speaking from the heart\, which is what created the strong roots of their connection and work together. \n“October 7th tore apart reality as we knew it in Israel-Palestine. Our perception of how things are was shattered on multiple levels and has affected not only those living on this land but many people and communities around the world. We are still in shock in far too many ways\, and worse\, see no end in sight. Through shared experiences of loss\, PCFF is finding hope and a path forward beyond binary ways of thinking\, and\, through reconciliation\, achieve a sustainable peace. \nJoin us to hear from a group of individuals profoundly affected by the conflict as they share their stories of loss and their unwavering belief in our shared humanity. Yasmeen spoke to us from the largest hospital in the south\, Soroka Medical Center\, where she was treating victims around the clock in the ER. \nNow\, one year later\, we’re checking back in with them and taking a moment to check in on ourselves. Earlier this year they traveled together to Verona\, Italy to meet Pope Francis and share their vision for the future: one where Israelis and Palestinians can move forward and live side by side. \n\nAziz Abu Sarah is a Palestinian peacebuilder\, entrepreneur\, and international speaker. He is the co-founder of InterAct International and MEJDI Tours\, and the former executive director of the Center for World Religions\, Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University.\nMaoz Inon is an Israeli social entrepreneur and peace activist. Death Over Dinner is an invitation to address the basic fact that we are all\, at some point\, going to die\, and to discuss it across the table–a place where we can break bread and create connections. \nThe holiday of Sukkot invites us to gather in an intentional space and mark the passage of time. DESCRIPTION:Recollect Seasonal Kaddish Gathering\nSukkot\nThursday\, October 24th\n12pm ET\nOnline\nAs we leave the high holidays and enter into the harvest holiday of Sukkot\, the Jewish calendar offers us an opportunity to invite the ancestors who came before us into temporary shelters (Sukkot). These huts serve as memory holders for both biblical ancestors and our own who we love and miss. Sukkot is the first of three ancient pilgrimage holidays when collective community gathers to remember (Yizkor). \nWe will create our temporary shelter online on October 24th at 12pm during our weekly Virtual Kaddish Call . Rabbi Amichai will join us for this special extended call to offer learning and space to hold our grief. \nLab/Shul’s ReCollect/Yizkor is a seasonal gathering to remember our loved ones\, share stories\, lift memory\, and say Kaddish\, the ancient memorial prayer\, together. Throughout the year\, ReCollect meets near or on the times of memory (Yizkor) on the Jewish calendar (Yom Kippur\, Sukkot\, Passover and in this month Shavuot). \nWhether you’ve experienced a recent loss\, are remembering a loved one who passed long ago\, or showing up in support of community\, you are welcome here.
