SUMMARY:Zen Shabbat 5782
DESCRIPTION:Zen Shabbat\nA Jewish and Zen Shabbat Celebration – In Person & On Zoom\nLab/Shul and the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care invite you to a shared experience of sacred space and time\, harmonizing Jewish and Zen traditions in the celebration of Sabbath spirit. \nThe third of our seasonal Zen Shabbats honors the new growth of Springtime. Tonight we tend to our ten thousand losses to cultivate the ten thousand joys. We’re delighted to be back in-person and online as well for this month’s hybrid sabbath gathering. Please review our COVID protocols below. \nSchedule \n7:00pm – Zen Center Opens\, Welcome to the space. Sit\, Exhale… \n(7:15pm Zoom Opens)  \n7:30pm – START of Zen Shabbat: Ritual music\, meditation\, and spiritual teachings led by Sensei Koshin Paley Ellison and Spiritual Leader\, Shira Kline. \nLocation & Capacity\nWe are thrilled to hold Zen Shabbat in person at the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care\, and on Zoom! In order to keep our community safe\, and socially-distanced\, we are limiting in-person capacity to thirty people. \nAll in-person registrants will be entered into a lottery\, with a drawing held the Wednesday before Zen Shabbat and confirmation messages sent out the same day. We thank you for your flexibility as we “lab” this new\, equitable system for honoring venue capacity. \nCOVID Safety\nFor folks attending in person\, proof of vaccination will be required for entry. Masks must be worn indoors at all times. \nAccessibility\nThe Zendo is on the 4th floor. There is an elevator.  There are floor cushions and chairs available for your sitting comfort. The NYZC is within 1 block of the 1\, 2\, N\, Q\, R\, and W trains.

SUMMARY:Seder Queen 5782
DESCRIPTION:Seder Queen 5782: Moses of the City\nA Jews of Color-centered Passover Seder\, Lab/Shul style.\nWelcome to Seder Queen\, co-led by Marques Hollie and Associate Director and Ritual Leader Naomi Less with support from the Lab/Shul Ritual Team.  We are honored to premiere the Moses of the City Haggadah as our core Passover ritual tool\, created by artist in residence\, Luis Burgos along with live music\, poetry\, theater and heart-centered powerful conversations centering the perspectives of Jews of Color.  \n \nSeder Queen reflects the diversity of Judaism and lifts up the work of Jews of Color in Jewish spaces that have been historically white. We hope that other Jews of Color will experience Seder Queen as transformative\, and know that they are not alone. We hope that white Jews will be moved to do the work of liberation alongside JOCs and know that JOCs are integral to Jewish continuity and to Jewish communal spaces. \n \nBuy your own Moses in the City Haggadah directly from Luis’ website.\nThis seder is generously supported by a grant from Jews of Color Initiative\, an organization which works to build a truly multiracial\, anti-racist Jewish community in which Jews of Color can experience joy and reach their full potential and belonging as leaders and community members. Lab/Shul is also proud to partner with Ammud: Jews of Color Torah Academy\, JOC Mishpacha Project\, LUNAR\, and Mitsui Collective for this evening.  \nFeatured Ritualists   \n\nAri L. Monts (Ammud)*\nDr. Harriette Wimms  (JOC Mishpacha)*\nGen Slosberg (LUNAR)*\nRebecca S’manga Frank (Performance Artist) \nYoshi Silverstein (Mitsui Collective)*\nBen Freeman (Lab/Shul)\nKoshin Paley NY Zen Center for Contemplative Care \nNaz Georgas (Cordoba House)\nRabbi Noam Lerman (Lab/Shul)\nRev. Derrick McQueen (St. James Presbyterian Church)\n\n* Denotes Seder Queen Partner Organizations \nRitual Musicians \n\nMeg Okura\nZafer Tawil\nSaskia Lane\n\n\nSponsorship and Tickets \nSponsorship: Invest in Your Community \nWe are committed to making Seder Queen available to people across class and economic access. To support this commitment\, we have devised a sliding scale which aims to take into account both the inequitable distribution of wealth in our society as well as the value of the labor required to offer this program. Lab/Shul is committed to resource redistribution\, which is why we ask you to think deeply about your relationship to class in general. If this is the first time you’ve been asked to consider class and wealth\, Seder Queen is a perfect opportunity to start! \nWe encourage participants to self-select into paying the amount that best correlates to your class position.  \nHere are two resources that we’ve found helpful to understand class in the U.S (thanks Amelia Mae Paradise and Franny Silverman for assisting our learning): \n\n“About Class” // Class Action\, a cross-class group working towards Economic Justice\n“Class distinctions and class brackets” // Resource Generation an organization supporting young people in equitable wealth\, land\, and power redistribution. This resource is helpful in discovering which class category you fall into.\n\nWe invite you to consider a Sponsorship level table or ticket if you fall into Tier 3.  \nMile Chai Club: A curated\, balcony level seating experience for young adults who have greater access to wealth. Consider this if you fall into Tier 2 or higher \nPartner Discount: Partnerhood works on the simple premise that each of us gives something of ourselves in order to get a whole lot more from each other. It’s designed to help create the deeply engaged\, cross-connected community you’ve told us you want. It’s about investing. It’s about flexibility. Interested in learning more about Partnerhood? Check out our website or email sam@labshul.org.  \n\n\n\n\nTICKET \n\nPer Table/Person\n\n\n\nSponsorship: Premiere Table for 12 (per table)\n$4\,500\nTier 3\n\n\nSponsorship: Premiere Table for 6 (per table)\n$2\,250\nTier 3\n\n\nSponsorship: Premiere Reserved Seat (per person)\n$360\nTier 3\n\n\nPremiere Reserved Seat (per person)\n$180\nTier 2\n\n\nRegular General Admission Seat (per person)\n$125\nTier 2\n\n\nPartner GA Discount Seat (per person)\n$100\nTier 2\n\n\nPOC Sliding Scale\n$18+\nAny tier\n\n\nArtist/Student GA Seat (per person)\n$36\nTier 1\n\n\nMile Chai Club (per person)\n$72\nTier 2+\n\n\nMile Chai Club (per 2 person table) \n$180\nTier 2+\n\n\nMile Chai Club (per 4 person table)\n$300\nTier 2+\n\n\nOnline Donation (Ind/Group)\n$18\, $36\, $72\, $180\, $360\n\nAny tier
