DESCRIPTION:Recollect Seasonal Kaddish Gathering\nTuesday\, December 17th\n6:30pm ET\nNYC*\nAs we reach the end of the year\, we enter the winter holidays which can feel tender – that our end of year celebrations are now without our lost loved ones. Masks Optional.    \nThis event has limited in person capacity.  \nRegistration required – Please click here. \nRegister to join in person in NYC >

SUMMARY:Special Preview Screening of There Is Another Way
DESCRIPTION:Special Preview Screening of There Is Another Way\nwith Guest Speaker Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie\n\nThursday\, January 23\, 2025\n7pm – 9:30pm EST\nNYC\nIn the midst of darkness\, we discover who we truly are. \nJoin us in a sacred space for a special preview screening of There Is Another Way followed by a meaningful conversation with filmmakers and Combatants for Peace members centered on collective liberation. \nThere Is Another Way\, a powerful new documentary\, tells the story of a group of visionaries – Combatants for Peace – who refuse to surrender to violence and injustice\, and in doing so show that another path is possible – for them\, for us\, and for all humanity. As we are all faced with essential questions about who we are\, will we choose collective liberation\, where the needs\, rights\, and safety of all are prioritized – in which our humanity comes first\, knowing that no one is free until everyone is free. \nCombatants for Peace is an extraordinary bi-national group of former enemy combatants – Israelis and Palestinians – working together during an ongoing armed conflict. Confronted with the devastation and escalating violence of October 7th and the war in Gaza\, the very core of the movement faces great challenges in showing that there is another way. The first question they must move past relates to their own beliefs…is this possible? \nLEARN MORE + REGISTER >

SUMMARY:Recollect Seasonal Kaddish Gathering: Tu B’Shvat
DESCRIPTION:Recollect Seasonal Kaddish Gathering: Tu B’Shvat\nWednesday\, February 12th\n6:45pm ET in Brooklyn\n7:15pm ET Online\nThe lyrics to “The Rose” remind us that far beneath the bitter snow lies a seed of growth. That can be the experience of grieving. As we live in the winter months\, we mark Tu B’Shvat – the birthday of the tree seedlings\, not yet grown – and gather to recall and ritualize the fruits our loved ones bore on their tree of life. \nReCollect/Yizkor is a seasonal gathering to remember our loved ones\, share stories\, lift memory\, and say Kaddish\, the ancient memorial prayer\, together. \nWhether experiencing a recent loss\, remembering a loved one who passed away long ago\, or showing up in support of community\, we gather to acknowledge feelings of loss that can be particularly painful as we anticipate an empty chair at our tables. \nRegister to join in Brooklyn >\nRegister to join online >
