SUMMARY:Children of Abraham Virtual Peace Vigil
DESCRIPTION:Children of Abraham Virtual Peace Vigil\nPlanting the Seeds of Peace on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11\nJoin Naomi Less and Rabbi Amichai\, along with beloved multi faith partners for a virtual commemoration of 9/11 and all that followed\, as well as an honoring of the many activists who have stood up for Muslim and other immigrants\, for Black Lives\, against anti-Asian hate\, and against Islamophobia and antisemitism. \n  \nSeptember 11\, 2021\, marks 20 years since the attacks and destruction that have come to be known as 9/11. A few days after 9/11 a group of Muslims and Arabs came to meet with a group of Jews in Brooklyn\, and from our new connection came the Children of Abraham Peace Walk: Jews\, Christians\, Muslims\, and Other People of Good will Walking Together in Brooklyn in Peace. For 15 years we walked from and to many Brooklyn neighborhoods and perhaps most notably from Brooklyn to downtown Manhattan\, near what has come to be called Ground Zero. We walked from\, to and into churches\, mosques\, synagogues\, and other faith-based institutions\, insisting that our common messages of peace and love for one another must prevail in our broken world. \n  \nTwenty years later the world is perhaps even more broken\, and our hopeful spirits have taken a hit. But we continue to hope and to insist that relationship\, love and solidarity will win the day. \n  \nFull line-up of speakers include; Rabbi Arthur Waskow\, Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum\, Sunita Viswanath\, Adama Bah\, Reverend Micah Bucey\, Simran Jeet Singh and many more! Performances by Naomi Less & Raza Zia\nHosted by: Dr. Debbie Almontaser\, Rabbi Ellen Lippman\, and Reverend Tom Martinez: Founders\, Children of Abraham Peace Walk

DESCRIPTION:FamilyLab: Harvest to Table\nA Sukkot Backyard Party!\nWelcome to FamilyLab: An everybody friendly gathering for families with young children ages 0-8 (siblings welcome). Centered around the family table\, we get a little messy in the kitchen for a whole lot of fun.  \n  \nThe harvest holiday of Sukkot is a backyard party to celebrate the fall moon\, the turning leaves and the seasonal winds. Come to break bread together and play under the trees!  \n  \nWith Lab/Shul’s unique God-optional approach to tradition\, text\, and story\, FamilyLab is open to those who identify as Jewish\, Jew-ish\, and everything in between. Shira Kline a.k.a. ShirLaLa\, our Director of Family Education\, leads these meet-ups through story\, music\, art activities and great conversation.   \n  \nWhether you build your own Sukkah or it’ll be your first time shaking the lulav\, all families are welcome! \nSpace is limited so invite your friends now! Questions? Email Shira@Labshul.org \n\nLocation\nWe are thrilled to be back in person for this FamilyLab! We’ll be hosted in a private backyard of one of our beloved community members\, and will send address and other details upon RSVP. \n\nPricing\nFamilyLab is totally free for Lab/Shul Partners – learn more about the benefits of Partnerhood.\nFor our other community members\, we recommend $36 donation per family\, and offer an $18 Angel Assistance option as well.\nIf the fee creates a financial hardship for your family\, please reach out to ari@labshul.org.
