SUMMARY:Rise from Rubble
DESCRIPTION:Rise from Rubble\nA Multifaith Ritual and Call for Global Prophetic Justice\nJoin Lab/Shul\, Romemu and JFREJ together with our multifaith partners\, the Church Center for the UN\, Judson Memorial Church\, Faith in New York\, Muslim Community Network\, and St. James Presbyterian Church\, as we work to rise together from the rubble of destructive hatred\, injustice and violence.\n \n\nThe 9th of Av is Judaism’s saddest day\, marked each year by fasting and lamenting in commemoration of exile\, destruction and ongoing persecutions. This year\, we witness and experience the rubble of our personal and public lives\, still in the throes of a pandemic\, political divides and harmful laws\, and the national reckoning with enduring racism and discrimination. \n  \nSpecifically\, we lift up the plight of homeless folks in NYC – black and brown lives overwhelmingly impacted\, in this pandemic.  We amplify the #JulyHomelessRights campaign and call for the city to ensure folks are vaccinated\, pause the transfers from hotels back into shelters\, and give the time and resources needed to implement Intro 146 and help folks rise from rubble\, using the NYC vouchers. \n  \nWe gather on this day\, overlooking the NY Harbor\, with faith leaders\, activists\, artists\, as we lament together\, decalcify our hearts\, call out apathy and revisit prophetic promises of hope. Together we recommit to the work of reclaiming a more just\, safe and healthy life for all.  \nIn Person\nWe will be gathering in person at Wagner Park. We recommend taking the 4 or 5 to Bowling Green and walking to Wagner Park. \n \nOnline\nTune in to our live stream of Rise from Rubble on our Facebook event! Click here to watch. \nRain Plan\nIf our event is rained out we will be holding Rise from Rubble on zoom\, and streaming the zoom to our Facebook event. Zoom link will be posted on this page. \n  \nEvent Photography by Tequila Minsky

SUMMARY:Saturday SoulSpa & Yizkor
DESCRIPTION:Saturday SoulSpa & Yizkor\nJoin Naomi Less and Eliana Light as they weave a new Storahtelling\, pulling threads from an ancient story as we untangle what it means to be there for those who are grieving. SoulSpa will also include Yizkor\, a short memorial ritual\, customarily held at the end of Passover\, during which we recall with love\, deceased friends and family. \nThis is our take on the traditional afternoon Mincha prayer service “The Gift\,” and we will end by reciting the mourners kaddish prayer. \n  \nThis Month’s Collaborator\n\nEliana Light envisions a joyful\, vibrant\, heart-centered Judaism that speaks to the soul and moves the spirit\, reminding us that we all are One. She offers professional development to educators\, clergy\, and lay leaders to elevate and deepen their prayer gatherings\, allowing them to offer more meaningful experiences to more people. These days\, she creates meaningful learning\, prayer\, and professional development over zoom. \n  \nLab/Shul programming is made possible by support from you. SUMMARY:OneTable Community Seder Matching!
DESCRIPTION:Seder Matching with OneTable\nFor many of us\, this will be our second year of Zoom Passover\, and it is so critical that we\, the Lab/Shul community\, show up for one another. That’s why we’re making it easy for you to open up your Zoom table to others for the first night of Passover! \n  \nIn partnership with HereFor.com\, a program of OneTable\, we’ve made it easy for you to post and search for seders hosted by Lab/Shul Partners. \n  \nAs a bonus\, if you post your Seder and email sam@labshul.org by March 19\, we will send you items needed for your seder plate as a thank you! \nHow to Host\nIf you already have a OneTable account\, you can use the same login information for HereFor.com. Otherwise\, you’ll need to create an account. You can find step-by-step instructions for posting an event here. \n\nHow to Make Sure Lab/Shul Partners Can Find You\nThere are two important steps to make sure that other Lab/Shul Partners can identify your posting as one that’s part of Lab/Shul’s seder matching: \n\nUnder “Details\,” you’ll see “My event is for…” with a drop down list. Make sure that you click “Lab/Shul” on that drop down list!\nYou’re given an option to upload a cover image. Use this photo for your cover image so others will easily see it’s for Lab/Shul.\n\nIt’s important to know\, too\, that you can open up your table as much or as little as you want to. If you have room for one extra person at your seder\, you can set that limit on HereFor.com. If you want to host a seder just for Lab/Shul Partners and are open to as many people as possible coming\, you can also do that\, too! \n\nHow to Find a Seder\n\nGo to HereFor.com and click on “Browse Events” in the top right corner.\nTo the right of the search bar\, click on “Show Filters.”\nClick on “Areas.” You’ll see Lab/Shul on the list of options– it’s in alphabetical order\, so we’re between “Jews of Color” and “Men’s/Brotherhood.”\nClick “search” on the search bar at the top of the page. This will filter the events\, so you’ll only see events hosted by Lab/Shul Partners\, and can easily be matched with a seder.
