SUMMARY:A Special 10/7 Commemoration with UJA
DESCRIPTION:A Special 10/7 Commemoration\nwith UJA\n Wed\, October 7\, 2026\n6:00 PM – 8:00 PM ET\nManhattan \nOn the third anniversary of October 7\, join UJA-Federation of New York and the Museum of Jewish Heritage — A Living Memorial to the Holocaust for a special commemorative event. We’ll hear words of comfort and inspiration from community leaders and elected officials as we officially launch Rooted: A Testament to Jewish Resilience\, a powerful art installation honoring our community’s unwavering commitment to bringing the hostages home. \nFor 834 days of grief\, hope\, and collective action\, hostage tags and pins became powerful symbols of solidarity and shared responsibility. You donated thousands of them to help preserve that legacy. \nNow\, these symbols have been transformed into a lasting public work of art by renowned Israeli artists Dede Bandaid and Nitzan Mintz\, creators of the “Kidnapped” posters. Join us for an exclusive talkback with the artists and the installation’s curator\, Shlomi Rabi\, and hear from Andrei Kozlov\, former hostage and artist\, who now shares his story through his artwork worldwide. \nTogether we’ll honor our enduring bond forged through solidarity\, action\, and hope and commemorate this pivotal chapter in our Jewish communal history. \nLight refreshments will be served. Dietary laws observed.  \nREGISTER >>

SUMMARY:Three Years Since October 7: Mourn the Dead End the Bloodshed - Candlelight Vigil
DESCRIPTION:Three Years Since October 7:\nMourn the Dead End the Bloodshed – Candlelight Vigil\nWednesday\, October 7\, 2026\n8 PM ET | UNION SQUARE \nWe invite you to share in commemoration with our friends at Israelis for Peace — \nRabbi Amichai will lead a ritual moment during the program\, offering space for reflection and remembrance. \nThe Israelis For Peace community and guests will gather on the evening of October 7\, 2026\, to commemorate three years since October 7th\, mourning those killed on the day itself and since\, in its bloody aftermath. We will stand in silence holding candles\, with banners reading MOURN THE DEAD\, END THE BLOODSHED. Community members will read testimonies from and about October 7th survivors and victims and testimonies from Gaza and the West Bank. October 7th devastated many of us. Some of us lost family or friends\, others had loved ones taken hostage. And for three years\, while we protested\, organized and learned from Palestinian and Israeli peace activists\, we have been asking ourselves and our community – how does one mourn when the horrors are ongoing? While retaliation has turned into genocide? While tens of thousands of human beings have been killed and are still being killed? \nFor more information from Israelis for Peace: \nREAD HERE >>\n
