SUMMARY:2023 Joint Memorial Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:The Joint Memorial Ceremony\, the largest Israeli-Palestinian peace event in history\, is just one month away. On April 24\, 2023\, people around the world will gather online and in person to call for peace\, freedom\, and human rights for all. Join us. \nEvery year\, the Joint Memorial Ceremony takes place on Yom Hazikaron – Israel’s Memorial Day\, a solemn day in which Israelis remember those they have lost to the ongoing violence. Traditionally\, this day and related ceremonies erase the Palestinian experience and reinforce narratives of blame and hopelessness. \nOur Joint Memorial Ceremony is different – it provides a unique opportunity for Israelis and Palestinians to grieve and heal together. In mourning side by side\, we seek not to equate narratives but to transform despair into hope and build bridges of deep compassion that can change reality. By unifying our pain and longing for peace\, we demonstrate to the world our power to stop the violence\, end the occupation\, and co-create a safe and free future.
